1. Make a body scrub: Mix coconut oil and sugar together and rub all over! Rinse off and your skin will be super soft. Add essential oils if you like.
  2. Pre-shave: Coconut oil will prep skin for the pending damage caused by shaving.
  3. Aftershave: Rub coconut oil on skin after shaving without clogging pores. Great tip for the guys for a silky smooth finish.
  4. Bruises: Applied directly to the bruise, coconut oil enhances the healing process by reducing swelling and redness.
  5. Insect bites: Stop the itching and burning sensation by applying coconut oil directly on bite. It will also speed up the healing process.
  6. Kitchen burns: Run cold water on the burn then apply coconut oil to the burn site immediately and continue applying until healed. Promotes healing and reduces chance of scarring.
  7. Lip care: Coconut oil makes a great lip balm – just try not to lick it all off!
  8. Dandruff: Apply coconut oil to the scalp and leave on for several hours or overnight. Wash out next morning. You may need a couple of shampoos.
  9. Face wash balm: Rub coconut oil onto face avoiding eye area. Wash off with a warm face wash.
  10. Beard oil: Coconut oil makes the perfect beard conditioner. Massage a small amount (about the size of a 5 cent piece) by patting onto the area and combing through. Pat off excess with a face cloth. This will also keep the skin underneath nourished.
  11. Body moisturizer: Apply like you would moisturizer. In the summer months it’s probably best to reserve it for night times only or you could find yourself slip sliding around on the bus or office chair.
  12. Treat for your feet: Apply to the soles of your feet after a shower and pop a pair of socks on to lock in the moisture. Wake in the morning to silky soft hooves.
  13. Hair treatment: Apply all over hair and leave overnight. If you have fine hair, just apply it to the ends. Wash off in morning. You may need to shampoo twice.
  14. Hair de-frizzer: Rub a miniscule amount between your fingers and smooth down fly-aways.
  15. Healing: When applied on scrapes and cuts, coconut oil forms a thin, chemical layer which protects the wound from outside dust, bacteria and virus. Plus, it smells a lot better than anything from the pharmacy
  16. Lubricant: It’s an all-natural, perfectly safe personal lubricant.
  17. Eye makeup remover: Use a cotton swab and a dab of coconut oil and gently wipe the eye area.
  18. Massage oil: Pretty self explanatory…
  19. Nipple cream: Works great to nourish cracked, sore or dry nipples. Apply to a cotton ball and leave on your nipples between feedings.
  20. Skin problems: Coconut oil relieves skin problems such as psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema.
  21. Sunburn relief: Spent a day at the beach and look like a lobster? Slap on some coconut oil to soothe, relieve tightness and prevent peeling.
  22. Tattoo care: Continued use of coconut oil on tattoos will help keep the pigment from fading. Used on new tattoos, coconut will hasten the healing process and decrease the chance of infection.
  23. Insect repellent: Mix coconut oil with peppermint oil extract and rub it all over exposed skin.
  24. Moisturising and cleaning leather products: Just make sure you test a small area first.
  25. Cheekbone highlighter: Apply a small amount on cheekbones over makeup for an all-natural illuminator.
  26. Nappy rash cream: A great alternative to store-bought creams.
  27. Stretch marks: Particularly helpful for expectant mothers’ bellies.
  28. Soak for the bath: Melt about 1/4 cup in the microwave and add it to your bath water and soak.
  29. Homemade toothpaste: Combine equal parts coconut oil and baking soda. Sweeten with stevia and flavour with your favorite essential oil.
  30. Oil pulling: Swish coconut oil around in your mouth for 20 minutes before brushing.
  31. Rub the inside of your nose with coconut oil to help with runny noses, allergies, sore nostrils…
  32. Guitar string lubricant.
  33. Clean the shower: Use a little bit of coconut oil on a damp cloth to wipe scum from shower, then spray with white vinegar and wipe dry.
  34. Thrush treatment: Coat a tampon in coconut oil and insert for a couple of hours.
  35. Nail treatment: Massage coconut oil into cuticles to help keep nails strong.
  36. Face mask: Apply a generous layer of oil and leave for an hour or overnight.
  37. Post-wax serum: Apply to skin after waxing to soothe.
  38. Deodorant: Apply as you would a regular deodorant.
  39. Clears up cold sores: Due to it’s anti-microbial properties, coconut oil makes a great topical ointment for cold sores.
